Handel - Alexander’s Feast - Concerto Grosso in C Major Movement 1 - A transcription for woodwind quintet of this lively movement that was meant to be performed between parts one and two of Handel's Ode. The concertino parts are mainly in the flute, oboe and bassoon but the other instruments have sections of the solo parts in order to rest the concertino instruments. This transcription makes a great opener, closer or encore piece. Advanced

Angels We Have Heard On High/ Ding Dong Merrily On High - This arrangement combines these two carols by alternate phrases from each and by having sections of the carols occur simultaneously. There are also free sections of imitative counterpoint interspersed. All this occurs over a syncopated ostinato rhythm that has the eight eighth notes of the 4/4 measure grouped as 3,3,2 resulting in a very festive arrangement for concert or church use. Drunkard's Song - In this fun arrangement, the musicians are asked to play the tune drunkardly by bending pitch and scooping into notes. The music seems out of sync as some of the figures are three beats long and some are in a two beat pattern. Harmonic surprises abound as even the tonality is obscured at times.
